8 Things You Can Do To Stop Coronavirus from Killing Your Vibe
By Dave Noodlez @davenoodlez
As a full time Business Owner/Teaching Artist/Creative I am in a variety of different settings every week.
With the recent events happening in the world a lot of my steady work has come to a sudden halt. Schools are shutting down, clients are jumping ship and partners are ordering less product.
I wanted to share this list of 8 things you can do today to raise your spirits during this interesting time in our lives.
1. Reach out
That friend you haven’t spoke to in years, hit them up. Your Grandma in another state, give her a call. Your brother or sister that you bump heads with, give him a text. Let someone know that you are thinking about them and wish them well.
Hebrews 13:16 “And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.”
2. Bless someone
During this time we probably feel like we are the ones that need help. This is actually a time to step up to the plate and help someone else out. If you know a neighbor that is elderly, offer to go to the store for them. If you know a friend is going through a rough time send them a little something on their Cash App.
Galatians 6:2 “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
3. Feed your mind
Whether it’s a motivational speech from Tony Robbins, sermon from Michael Todd, Guided Prayer from Rich Wilkerson Jr, or your favorite album, feed your mind with something positive everyday.
The same way we feed our bellies when we’re hungry, we need to feed our mind and spirit with something that lifts us higher. We need to do this daily to stay on course or to get us back on course when we’re falling off.
Frank Nitti and I just released a new motivational song that was made to get you back on track when you’re feeling out of it. Hope you enjoy it.
Isaiah 55:2 “Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And delight yourself in abundance.
4. Do what you love
Use your free time and to do what you love. We all have a calling. Sometimes we get so busy in our day to day lives that we forget to answer it.
With more time home it is an opportunity to write the first page of that children’s book you were thinking about, pick up a paintbrush and create that painting you’ve been wanting to do for awhile or write that business proposal of that amazing idea you had the other day.
Answer your calling today. Wake up with no regrets tomororow.
Peter 4:10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
5. Spread love
There are so many messages being delivered to us everyday. It is very easy to get overwhelmed in gossip and bad news. It is important to stay informed and aware of what’s going on, just be sure that the sources are valid before sharing with others.
There hasn’t been a better time to spread love.
In one of my new favorite books by Bob Goff ‘Love Does’ he says, “…love is never stationary. In the end, love doesn’t just keep thinking about it or keep planning for it. Simply put: love does.”
I always thought of ideas of love as e-mails from God that I would keep in my inbox until they were forwarded to others.
If you have an idea that will spread love, run with it.
If you are feeling compelled to spread love, don’t push it to the side.
If you feel something in your heart that you know will make someone’s day better, do it.
We are a little limited now to how close we can be to each other or where we can go but there is no limit to the amount of positive text messages you can send in a day.
Hebrews 10:24 “Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.”
6. Stay informed
There is a lot going right now and rules are changing. Whether it’s when we can leave our homes or the places we can visit, stay alert to the news and updates. There is no power like intellectual power. Even though we may feel like we are losing some of our freedom, this is actually for our greater good. It is not us being forced, it is us being informed. The world is providing us the proper safety measures to beat this virus. Let’s stay informed and reduce the spread of this.
Proverbs 18:15 “The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge, for the ears of the wise seek it out.”
7. Be a team player
The world is constantly informing us on ways to stay healthy and prevent the spread of this virus. Use all this knowledge to your advantage. Let’s all work together to make an impact.
These tips are all from CDC.org
Clean your hands often
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
Avoid close contact
Avoid close contact with people who are sick
Put distance between yourself and other people if COVID-19 is spreading in your community. This is especially important for people who are at higher risk of getting very sick.
Take steps to protect others
Stay home if you’re sick
Stay home if you are sick, except to get medical care. Learn what to do if you are sick.
Cover coughs and sneezes
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze or use the inside of your elbow.
Throw used tissues in the trash.
Immediately wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not readily available, clean your hands with a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
Wear a facemask if you are sick
If you are sick: You should wear a facemask when you are around other people (e.g., sharing a room or vehicle) and before you enter a healthcare provider’s office. If you are not able to wear a facemask (for example, because it causes trouble breathing), then you should do your best to cover your coughs and sneezes, and people who are caring for you should wear a facemask if they enter your room. Learn what to do if you are sick.
If you are NOT sick: You do not need to wear a facemask unless you are caring for someone who is sick (and they are not able to wear a facemask). Facemasks may be in short supply and they should be saved for caregivers.
Clean and disinfect
Clean AND disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. This includes tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets, and sinks.
If surfaces are dirty, clean them: Use detergent or soap and water prior to disinfection.
8. Pray
Things are crazy right now and it may be hard to see, but there is going to be a time where we look back on this and remember how strong we were during this part of our lives.
Use this time to pray and communicate with God. Pray for the world. Pray for others. Pray for your family and friends. Pray for the all health professionals and workers that have to go to work everyday. Just Pray.
Talking to God has got me through a lot of tough times.
Mark 11:24 “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
I hope this list helps you.
