DJ Milos Vujovic Interview | Respect the DJ Interview

How did you get into DJing? 

I've always been "that kid" that plays music at all birthday parties and events. At one point I went to a club in Belgrade, Serbia where I heard DJ Pascal Feos and felt the first real clubbing scene, and that was the exact moment when I figured out that I want to become a DJ. 18 years later still in the same business!

What did you do to advance your skills/knowledge?

Literary practice all day on turntables in the beginning. Practice is the key, as with anything I guess.

What did your first setup look like?

I had a Numark dm3000x mixer and 3x Technics 1210 mk2 turntables, and loads of vinyl that I've collected through the years. Later on I switched to Serato and then to Traktor. Now I'm spinning on CDJ's.

What does your current setup look like?

Just using my 2 USB's when I spin. Occasionally I use a Pioneer RMX1000 effects processor when I have the opportunity. 

How did you get your DJ/Artist name?

 It's my first and last name, which no one can pronounce right.

If you could DJ at any 3 events/festivals what would they be?

Awakenings, Kappa Future Festival, Burning Man festival.

If you could DJ in any 3 cities what would they be?

Berlin, London, Madrid.

If you could be a tour DJ for any artist (dead or alive), who would it be?

Carl Cox of course!

What is your goal when you play live?

To make at least 50% of the crowd there dance.

What's your go to song right now?

Technimatic - Music Is Music. Love that song.

What is your dream as a DJ?

To make music and mixes that people dance to!

What is some advice you would give to someone with a dream to become a DJ?

Just to try it, if nothing else. You never know if you can actually make it if you don't try it.
