Raijin_Arts Interview | Respect the Artist
How did you get your Artist name?: To be honest, raijin isn't my real name. My real name is Jhay-Ram Mejia. 'Raijin' is just my usernames in my gaming accounts.
How did you get into creating?: I really started at calligraphies because of my bad handwriting. Then eventually I learned how to make watercolor backgrounds in my calligraphies, and having experienced watercoloring, I also got curioused on how to use other art materials, and I am proud of my improvements so far, because I aint really good at arts before.
How has creating changed your life?: It helped me ease my boredom this quarantine period. But boredom aside, I also met new friends(artists), that could understand me whenever I have making difficulties painting stuff.
Where are you from?: Alaminos City, Pangasinan, Philippines
How did growing up in your neighborhood/city affect you?: It really has a big impact of me, passingby neighbors always praise my works and also having supportive parents supporting me in my passion.
What did you do to advance your skills/knowledge?: I watched watercolor, postercolors, acrylics and color pencil blending techniques or even copy works from youtube, but my recent works are concepted by me.
What does your current setup look like?: My workplace is really messy whenever I finish an artwork, but after it I always clean the work place out.
Who inspires you? Why do they inspire you?: My family and some of my friends, its not all about the praises I get, but from the love and support they gave me whenever I made not wonderfully made arts.
What is your goal when you create? : To share my passion, to show people what I love. Somehow it's the like and retweets I want, but I do not put that as a big deal at all, I am just an improving artist at the making.
Why do you create?: To improve.
What's your go-to song right now and why is it important to you?: Fairy Tail ost(s). Coz my favorite anime is fairy tail.
What is your dream as an artist and what steps are you taking to reach your dream?: I really am planing to have an art studio soon, after I reach my ambitions, and have all my own concepted art works posted there. And also to have friends that's really supportive tho. Haha
What is the best advice you would give someone? : Be patient, a big step or even a smaller one, it leads us to greatness, improvement takes time.
Tell us about your most recent release: My reacent work is slightly own concepted, but to shorten this up I saw a sunset inspired work that has a wonderful seaside scenery and also seeing a bridge and some buildings, but my recent work is a night inspired work, there you can see buldings bridges the sea, and also the spot where you can wee all this, the really challenging part here us the starry night inspired by Van Gogh but I didnt copy the whole thing, it is also my color based work.
