Prossess & DJ Melodic Sounds 'Mozambiqued' Interview

Prossess and DJ Melodic Sounds sat down with us talk about their new EP 'Mozambiqued'

What inspired the title?

Originally the EP was a 3 track album. Mozambiqued is an assassination technique of shooting two bullets to the chest and one to the head. This was the idea until we added a fourth bullet when we had the opportunity to feature Illa Ghee on the project. Originally the song featuring Illa Ghee titled “Peruvian Powder” wasn’t on the project, but was added last minute.

Where did you record this album?

This EP was recorded in Brooklyn, New York. The beats were made in New Jersey.

What is your favorite track? Why?

My favorite song is “Crackheadz” because of the gritty sample and hardcore lyrics.

What is your favorite line from the album?

"Ted Bundy type’a rapper, duke, I murder a p*ssy spitta”

Who helped make this album what it is?

Between myself (Prossess) rapping, DJ Melodic Sounds on production, Profixan Mixin over at Premier Miller Studios on mixing and mastering, PHD Graffitti on the album art, and Illa Ghee on the feature, we all come together after a couple of years of a worldwide pandemic to bring you a masterpiece.

If you could remix any song and feature any artist, what song would it be and who would you feature on it?

I’ve never remixed any songs, I believe in making original content. If I was forced to, off the top of my head it would be dope to remix the song by Ludacris called “Growing Pains” and put me and Sean Price (RIP!) on it.

What's your dream?

I just wanna rhyme. R.I.P. PumpkinHead

What is some advice you would give to someone with a dream?

Do what you love.. and don’t ever quit.. the only thing that will bring you over the obstacles of making it is your passion for it.
