Why are you not like the other kids?

Hmmm i'd probably have to say the range of music i'm into and how i like to play my ideal sets. I've never been into current "commercial radio" music and i've never been into big fashion trends or those kinds of things. You'll hear me listening to or playing anything from Broken beat, UKG, Early 2000s Grime and 140 bass to Gqom and SA house to 80s rare groove, 90s HipHOp/Rnb or Dancehall and i'm really into crazy L.A. Beat scene stuff and heavy synth and bass 85bpm shit. As a DJ i've always stuck to the sounds I enjoy, aesthetically I've always stuck to the things I like (mainly workwear, Dickies, Carharrt and Ben Davis are my 3 go-to brands) and that's been about it for me really!

With my collective (L.A.B Collective) i think we're quite different in the sense that we've done multiple event series that don't just cover one element (which i suppose is both a good and a bad thing) so we've had Future Vibe Tribe which was all underground bass music and we've got Beat Meet which is a producer based event. Then of course we have our Youtube series "Beats & Liquor" (check it out on our youtube channel! Its good ;)

What inspires you as a DJ?

My initial inspiration to start DJing back when I was about 14 was I think just listening to music was never enough so i wanted to play music i liked to people and provide good vibes. After playing out and getting a taste, I think I've just been chasing that high I get when you get a great crowd and you're all sharing that same energy, it's unlike any other feeling and a main driving force to why I keep doing what I do despite the numerous obstacles.Im 31 now so it's definitely the biggest thing in my life as i haven't stuck to anything else as long haha.

Who is your favourite DJ?

I can't answer that as there are too many DJs in their respective genres that have individual styles and selections that i respect and admire. The main ones for me are:
