Kenny4rmda Interview | Respect the Artist
How did you get your Artist name?
Well my complete artist name is suppose to be KENNY4RMDATRENCHE$ but it’s too long so i decided to go with Kenny4rmda. No major thought process behind it, just needed something somewhat catchy. The trenches part comes from me just mentally and physically just going through it and going through the motions and still being here standing. I overcame a lot somethings due to circumstance and somethings due to my own immaturity and negligence. I feel like that’s relatable to most people going through adulthood trying to figure it out.
How did you get into creating?
My cousin actually got me into creating. We use to record music out of his garage at 13 years old. I was kind of like a quiet and kind of devious kid growing up so it’s like music became something to do to keep me out of trouble, so I kind of got my passion to create from that.
Where are you from?
MIAMI, Hollywood, Orlando. Pretty much all over Florida.8
What did you do to advance your skills/knowledge?
I spent a lot of time doing research, researching artist that kind of paved the way for us as artist today. I spent one summer going through discography’s of artists music from the 90s. It was cool because i have a friend and that’s all he listens to and i was so curious as to why that i actually took the time to have a open mind and give it a chance. But besides that i write from time to time, that also helps.
What does your current setup look like?
I have a audio technica AT4050 microphone (that i have actually yet to open), a 64 key Akai keyboard, my desktop, a audio interface and one Yamaha hs5 speaker.
Who inspires you?
Well the people around me and life in general. Don’t really need anymore inspiration outside of that.
What is your goal when you create?
Just to make music really. Make music that i personally like.
What's your go-to song right now?
Well go to song, not really sure that i have one right now. I usually play my songs so much that I actually don’t want to hear them sometimes. But if i had to pick I would say Ferris wheel.
What is your dream as an artist?
My dream as a artist is really to just continue to be able to express myself freely and hopefully keep inspiring the people around me that appreciate me.
What is some advice you would give to someone with a dream?
Just keep working at, plan for it and never stop investing in yourself. Learn to find a quiet space mentally where no outside noises can disrupt you and the passion you have.
Tell us about your most recent release
My recent release is pretty cool. Kind of experimental I would say but it’s cool. The singer I have featured on it, is brilliant. Definitely worth the listen.
