CIMAH Interview | Respect the Artist Interview

How did you get into creating?

It was a pretty easy transformation for me. I grew up having an older sister that is super creative. That creative energy just vibrates from her soul and still is a big inspiration of mine. I would see her create these crazy fashion figures and just be blown away. Since I can remember I was always drawing on shit to make them my own, there would be characters and doodles everywhere and on everything. There are too many true graffiti artists out there to name but they were all a huge push for me to start creating.

How did you get your Artist name?

To be really honest -Meditation. A big theme of my creations would be these random characters that I would draw with heart eyes everywhere but never had a name associated with them. I could never settle on a name or come up with something meaningful enough for me to be like “Yeah! That’s the one”. One day it just hit me. Clarity In Mind & Heart. My goal and intention with every piece is to bring a positive message so to me CIMAH fits perfectly.

What did you do to advance your skills/knowledge?

Create as much as possible. You learn a lot from mistakes, trials and trying to see things from a different perspective all the time. Being present and always creating from the soul.

What does your current setup look like?

Living in NYC doesn’t give me a ton of space but as long as I have a table with some markers and paint I will create anywhere. I’m lucky enough to have a backyard so that’s usually the spot on nicer days. 6

Who inspires you?

There is inspiration everywhere and in everyone you meet. Sometimes we just gotta slow down to realize it the small beauties of life

What is some advice you would give to someone with a dream to become an artist?

Lots of patience, lots of effort and do whatever makes you happy. That’s what it’s all about.

Tell us about your most recent release.

Last month I was honored to be part of my first NYC show presented by Startshows. It was the most surreal experience to see people getting inspired and excited by my creations. The feedback was so positive. It was such a rush. That’s the purpose for my creating. Moments like that give me so much purpose! I even had a bunch of my pieces sell, which was so dope.
