Bri Beats Interview | Respect the Producer Interview
How did you get your name?
My name is Brianna and I go by Bri. There isn't much reason behind my name other than Bri Beats just sounded dope, haha!
Where are you from?
I grew up in Tampa, Florida but now I am living in Los Angeles.
How did you get into Producing?
I started wanting to DJ. I’ve always loved music and would usually be in charge of bringing music to parties with my friends. I enjoyed introducing people to new music and playing what I thought were bangers. That made me want to get into DJ-ing. Very soon after I started to DJ, I got eager to dive deeper into music. Eventually I started writing and producing.
What did you do to advance your skills/knowledge?
I learned everything from Youtube. It is such an incredible tool to use. It just takes a lot of time and practice to teach yourself anything.
What did your first set up look like?
I had an ASUS desktop, some really cheap computer speakers and FL Studio.
What does your current setup look like?
I have the same ASUS desktop but I've added a lot more RAM. I also have an M-Audio Keystation 61, Bluebird SL microphone, FL Studio, Pro Tools, Ableton, and a bunch of plugins.
If you could produce for any artist (dead or alive), who would it be?
Eminem
What is your goal when you create?
To make you feel the emotion I'm going for.
What's your go-to song right now?
I’ve been listening to a lot of Lil Peep lately, “Save That Shit” is dope! I’ll never get tired of it.
What is your dream as a Producer?
I guess that would be to have everyone wanting to work with me. That would mean I’m doing something right!
What is some advice you would give to someone with a dream to become a Producer?
Practice everyday and don't give up. It’s going to take a lot of time and more than not you will feel like nothing is happening. You just have to keep working and things will happen. Networking is so important too, surround yourself with people who have similar goals and interest. It will push you to be better.
Where can people find you? (social media, website, etc)
My Instagram is @bri_beats. I have music on all streaming and purchasing platforms like Spotify, Apple , etc. You can also check out my beats on my website www.bribeats.com.
