V.R. - The Burden Of A Man Interview
In his first full-length studio project, Staten Island native VR takes us on a journey through his inner landscape — one which deep and contemplative, seeing into the deeper layers of life and the Self. From the angelic “Mona Lisa”, through the pain and complexity of songs like “Is There A Paradise” and the heart-felt “Sounds Of Me Healing”, the listener is given a glimpse inside the mind of a young man who has chosen to embrace the truth of himself and his place in the world, and through struggle, pain, will and triumph has found himself strengthened and refined. “The mind, once stretched by a new idea, never returns to its original dimensions." This is the Burden Of A Man.

What inspired the title?
The Divine Comedy - by Dante Alighieri with a combination of my own stories, observations etc.
This is a journey through Hell to get a glimpse of Heaven.
Where did you record this album?
I recorded this entire album in my bedroom.
What is your favorite track? Why?
This one is tough but Id have to go with Mona Lisa (the intro) its just soooo tough. Truly transformative & poetic.
What is your favorite line from the album?
This just might be impossible to answer BUT I might have to go with :
"Smiles on me like Mona Lisa,
this flow is a work of art
that every girl wants a piece of
until I get it all..
I can't share with y'all a slice
I skipped on a few wives for this life..."
Who helped make this album what it is? Writers, Producers, Muses, Support System, Etc
Big shout out to my team - Sef, Ye, Ely, and Amir. Without them a lot of the projects visual work and more wouldn't be possible. We really put sleepless nights into its entirety. Love

If you could remix any song and feature any artist, what song would it be and who would you feature on it?
Hmm I might go with "Just Being Honest" and I have a few people in mind... Its in the works...
What's your dream?
My dream? To make my younger self proud, feed my family with my Art, and inspire as many people as humanly possible before I leave this earth.
Everything I've ever been through was preparing me for the bigger picture.
I can feel I'm closer than ever.
What is some advice you would give to someone with a dream?
"If you understood how powerful your thoughts were
You'd never think negatively again"
