Sophia T. Jackson 'Saige-Ivory's World Adventure' Interview
Sophia T. Jackson sat down with us to talk about her new book 'Saige-Ivory's World Adventure'.
Where are you from?
I am originally from Harlem. I currently reside upstate, in the Hudson Valley area.
Tell us the story of how you got into writing
As a child, I would always write short stories. At a young age, I wrote a story titled "The two-inch man". Writing has always been my outlet to creatively express myself.
What was your favorite book growing up?
Growing up my favorite books were The cat in the hat, green eggs and ham, the caterpillar, and the Bernstein bears.
What is your favorite book as an adult?

What is the name of your new book?
Saige-Ivory's World Adventure
What inspired you to write the book?: My book was inspired by my two-year-old daughter as she played with her globe as we were planning our vacation.
Tell us more about your new book
This book was designed to provide Children around the world with a chance to cite see the world through the eyes of Saige-Ivory and her friend.
The book is an inspiring tale that will help to spark the imaginations of young readers as they follow along on Saige-Ivory's journey. Full of vibrant and colorful artwork, Saige-Ivory's trip comes to life, transporting young readers and allowing them to witness the wonders of the world.
Where do you go to get into writing mode?
I enjoy sitting in my pink office in my home. Its colorful theme allows me to tap into my creative space.
Who needs to read this book?
The idea is to connect with as many children starting at age 2 and have them explore and adventure in their minds through imagination. Simply put, I encourage all parents to get this fun read for their little ones.
Who inspires you?
My family inspires me to be the best version of myself each and everyday.
How important is reading and literacy for youth in this world?
It is important to get children to engage in reading and literecy at a tender age to assure they gain adequate vocabulary for their grade level and beyond.
What is some advice you would give to someone with a dream?
Search your heart for what truly brings you authentic joy and happiness.
Hard work, dedication, and discipline will allow your dreams to come true.
