SINYC 'Buried in the Marsh' Interview

We sat down with SINYC to talk about his new project 'Buried In The Marsh'.

What inspired the title?

The title is a reflection of my relationship with my music. While I loved chasing these early demos and feeling out my creative process, I didn't really have the vision or confidence to bring them into the light at the time.

Where did you record this album?

View Studio on Bay St., it's an amazing place to work.

What is your favorite track? Why?

Miss Y'all. The chorus on that song is one of the first I ever wrote and the memories attached mean the world to me. I'm glad it found some kind of home.

What is your favorite line from the album?

That's like asking me to choose my favorite kid. As a stand alone line probably: "Pack it in rap or contract another panic attack, add to the fact that I'm apt to be manic and snap".

Who helped make this album what it is?

There were A LOT of amazing people that helped me during that period of time, but the consistent push that kept me moving and making honest art came from Brodie Jaymz.

If you could remix any song and feature any artist, what song would it be and who would you feature on it?

I could answer this differently every day, but this morning I'd love to get my hands on Sven by Action Bronson and The Alchemist. An opportunity to work on a canvas like that would be an amazing experience.

What's your dream?

I guess my dream is to bring all of my creative pursuits to fruition. I love chasing ideas and developing projects, but I'm only now getting a handle on being comfortable with finishing them and releasing them to the world.

What is some advice you would give to someone with a dream?

DO THE WORK. Being prepared to make the most of an opportunity is as important as the opportunity itself. Always keep learning and sharpening your tools so that when the time comes you can claim what's yours.
