Arianna Marie Interview | Respect The Artist | @ariannamarieofficial/
Arianna Marie is a 23-year-old singer/songwriter from New Rochelle, NY. For as long as she can remember, she has always been in love with music. Arianna grew up singing in the church. Her brother played a significant role in her music career recording her music and helping her craft her sound.
We sat down with Arianna for an exclusive interview.
How did you get into creating?
Growing up I was very timid. I was scared to speak up most of the times and at times I was not really great at expressing how I felt. So I used to write down how I felt in a diary. My brother was an artist as well, so over time he would take me to the studio and I would just watch him while he was recording. Eventually, I got in the booth myself and ever since then, recording has been a new way of expressing myself.
How has creating changed your life?
Creating has saved me from going into a depressed state way too many times. Being able to record how I feel whether I'm sad, happy, bored, etc feels like I am having a conversation with myself. It has definitely been therapeutic for me.
Where are you from? New Rochelle, NY
How did growing up in your neighborhood/city affect you?
Growing up in New Rochelle, definitely shaped me into the person I am today.
What did you do to advance your skills/knowledge?
I worked on my craft day and night. I purchased my own recording tools and I would constantly network with others to collaborate. Building relationships in this industry is so important. It is what got me here today.
What does your current setup look like?
My current studio setup is in my bedroom. I have a cute glass desk, krk speakers, my macbook pro, focusrite interface, and some headphones. Its real simple and it gets the job done.
Who inspires you? Why do they inspire you?
My brother and my younger sister inspire me. My brother has inspired me to start my music career. When I was younger, I used to just see him make songs back to back like it was nothing. He did what he wanted to do, not what everyone else wanted him to do. I think that takes a lot of guts and I always looked up to him for that. My younger sister started her own hair business in 2018. She grew her own business and now has her own shop with a solid clientele. She chased after her dreams as well. I love the fact that they both believed in their craft and went after what they deserved. That is why they have inspired me.
What is your goal when you create?
My goal is to honestly have my music resonate with others. I want to have people sitting in a car and singing on top of their lungs just because they FEEL what I am saying. My goal is to impact my fan base emotionally
Why do you create?
create because it is very therapeutic for me and it allows me to be free in what I choose to do.
What's your go-to song right now and why is it important to you?
My go to song at the moment is Always Forever by Bryson Tiller. He literally explains his emotions so well in this masterpiece. The way he sings on the beat is just crazy.
What is your dream as an artist and what steps are you taking to reach your dream?
My dream is to be a part of the new R&B era. I feel I have a lot to work on but I do have a lot to bring to the table as well. I plan everything out in my life and one of the steps was to get a manager that cares about my music career as much as I do. Shout out to my manager Fernando!
What is the best advice you would give someone with a dream?
Try to focus more on the process and the results will come quicker than you know it. Everything is about trusting the process and letting time do its thing.
