How did you get into art?
Well, truthfully I’ve always been a weird kid with a wild imagination. I was into photography at one point I had a professional camera, I went to photography school and I was determined that this will be my future but that faded fairly quickly I’d say. So I thought that I’ve always loved writing poems. Not in the sense that I wrote them in my free time but more like in the sense of when it was a literature assignment, then I enjoyed it because it came easily to me. So that just developed into writing random bars with my friends that at the start were god awful and were mostly focused on the funny aspect of it. Like how to roast a friend in a clever way or something like that. But it wasn't until 2017 January where I first got really into it and actually made a song which was back then still just a fantasy or a thought in my head that “maybe one day”. So I took the Drake 0-100 beat and wrote the worst song imaginable but my friend like the flow and were actually quite impressed. So I’ve been taking it seriously ever since.

What did you do to advance your skills/knowledge?
I’ve never been big on self-improvement and self-betterment but this just spoke to me in a different way. I feel like I am actually doing something with my life when I’m writing or recording. So, of course, I took to youtube to get my knowledge up. I was and still am watching tutorials and I can't get enough. You can never learn too much so ill just keep at it. I also have analyzed songs from multiple genres of what makes them the hits that they are or once were. Which has improved my songwriting ability and the improvement that I'm talking about can be seen on my future projects which in my opinion are incredible. But in conclusion, there is always a lot to learn from the new people that you come across in your life. The road might change but my goal always stays the same so I'm just constantly learning new things.

How did you get your Artist name?
This was a catastrophe. I really envy the artists whose name came easily to them. I was scrambling around headlessly because I had no idea what use as my stage name. I forced all of my friends to come up with something which in the end was a useless effort because I’ve always been called Rannu, my whole life, so I just all caps it and changed the letter A and turned it upside down to a V basically. But you still pronounce it the same as Rannu or as you would pronounce “Brand new”

What is your goal when you make music?
My goal with my music is something that can be turned on during a party and turn-up.For people to like what I create. It’s melodic yet catchy and fire.But my overall goal with my music, right now, is to be heard. To have a voice in the industry. It's not easy and its not supposed to be easy. If it was easy then everybody would be doing it. Like with every achievement you're trying to reach, you have to put the time in and thats a fact, no cap. No shortcuts or anything.Might not seem like much but the saying grab a bull by its horns is true.That way you have more control, so you take that control and ride that bitch until you fall but i ain't going to fall. If your time isn’t now then when? what are you waiting for, ain't nobody coming to pick you up if you don’t put up that effort of standing up yourself.

What's your go to song right now?

It really depends on the whole mood. If I’m turning up then Comenthazine - Nonsense or anything by 6ix9ine tbh. If I’m just vibing then Roddy Ricch - Project Dreams/Every Season. Really fucking with Roddy Ricch lately.

What is your dream as an artist?

During this summer I had my first chance to see Post Malone live and it was amazing. After his set i made a promise with my friends thatIi won’t stop with music until I can shake his hand and tell him Nice to meet you, I’m RVNNU. So basically the dream would be to do a song with him, something upbeat and hard.

What is some advice you would give to someone with a dream to become an artist?

Once you start it don’t turn back. Don't lack and stay consistent. Once you get those big caps as an up and coming artist people start to forget about you because sadly in todays day and age peoples attention span is frustratingly short. You might get away with those gaps as a big artist because you already have a huge reliable fanbase but when you don't then don’t let your goal out of your sight, not even for a second.
