Respect the Artist with Trinity Noriega
How did you get into art?
I got into art from visiting my grandma's neighbors on the weekend. I watched this girl named Lorelei draw these amazing anime characters when I was about 6 or 7 and I thought they were the coolest things I’ve ever seen. I started drawing my favorite video game and tv characters everywhere.
What did you do to advance your skills/knowledge?
To advance my skills I just kept drawing and practicing. After my mom died I was almost non-stop making art. I painted, sculpted, and built a ton of stuff. Now I’m in art school for 3D animation.
What’s your prefer use of medium? (paint, Ink, digital)
My preferred medium now is still ink and pen. Although I’m a digital artist, I still like to get my hands dirty and smudgy before translating my concepts into a digital format.
Do you have an Artist name? How did you get your Artist name?
My artist name is just my name. Trinity Noriega is unique enough for me, I’ve never met anyone with the same name as me. It’s kind of iconic.
Who inspires you?
A ton of people inspire me. Danny Antonucci, Stephen Hillenburg, Richard Williams, George Miller, Bob Camp, the list goes on and on. I’m hugely inspired by people who seek greatness despite adversities. I’m obsessed with rags to riches stories.
What is your goal when you make art?
My goal when I make art is to allow the viewer to escape reality for a moment. I hope I allow them the opportunity to forget about their worries and be at ease. As a currency filmmaker, I want viewers to have a feeling of safety and comfort.
What's your go to song right now?
My favorite song right now is Aeroplane by Red Hot Chili Peppers.
What is your dream as a artist?
My dream as an artist is to be an art director and maybe make my own show. I want to affect lives and have my art be a piece nostalgia for coming generations.
What is some advice you would give to someone with a dream to become an artist?
My advice for anyone wanting to become an artist is to follow your heart and stay focused. If you want to be an artist pure going to face a lot of adversities, a lot of people not taking you seriously, but as long as you take yourself seriously and believe in yourself you allow yourself the opportunity to become someone great.
