How did you get your name?

As a kid, I was always trying to achieve what people said was impossible. I believe that nothing is impossible if it exists in this world, so Y.O stands for Young Overachiever

How did you get into creating?

Music was always a part of my life. Since a kid I was a part of choirs and chorus groups for school, I’ve always had a love for music. In 2019 I decided to start making music myself and share my experiences and creativity with my life experiences and my goals in life

How has creating changed your life?

Creating music has allowed me to focus on something that I genuinely love and express myself in ways I didn’t know how to before. Music is an escape from reality and a safe haven for me.

Where are you from?

I’m from Brooklyn but I Rep Staten Island and just New York period.

How did growing up in your neighborhood/city affect you?

Growing up in my city made me realize that the street is at a place for anyone. It made me realize I need to get it on my own and really change my families lives.

What did you do to advance your skills/knowledge?

To get the knowledge I have I became a sponge and just paid attention to my surroundings and learned from every encounter musically, in terms of skill I just kept making music and coming up with different ways to make a song come to life.

What does your current setup look like?

Right now I have an hour laptop that I record my music on, with a scarlet focus rite, NT1A those mic and for monitors the PreSonus speakers.

Who inspires you? Why do they inspire you?

People Al that inspire me at the moment are Tee grizzly, eddy I, jo blanco, Loui Paso, Pretty Boi Green, Bangers Home, Justriq, J-Cole, The Kid Laroi, and a lot more. They inspire me because each of them has a passion for music that matches a level of greatness in my opinion. Motivation to continue being the best me I can possibly be.

What is your goal when you create?

My goal when creating is to express myself and make relatable content for the masses.

Why do you create?

I create because I got a lot of emotions that I want people to resonate with.

What's your go-to song right now and why is it important to you?

My go-to song is “Now or never 2.0” by Pnb Rock. Rest in Peace.

This song is important because of the message behind it. Life is short so Live as much as you can doing what genuinely makes you happy.

What is your dream as an artist and what steps are you taking to reach your dream?

My dream as an artist is the give people a place to be themselves and open there minds to truly expressing their emotions cause regardless of anything we are humans, not robots. And me creating those images through my music is how I do it l, also I want to chef a lot of light on people with mental disabilities and show the world that they are amazing people and should deserve to be treated as such

What is the best advice you would give someone with a dream?: Limits are only active if you allow them to be, nothing is impossible, and don’t let anybody stop you from doing what you want, you won’t know if you the next big thing this world has ever seen till you take that step from the dark to the light.

Tell us about your most recent release: My song 'Ms Loretaa' is a song I got inspired by from the movie” Think Like a Man” with Kevin Hart doing what I feel is a scene that anyone can laugh too. Just having fun on the track and enjoying the process.
