How did you get your name?
It is an anagram of my first name, Truman
Where are you from?
The sunny beaches of Canada, where it’s always Spring Break!
How did you get into Producing?
I have always loved music and knowing how it all works together and how to create it allows me to appreciate it even more. I started making cheesy GarageBand loops in highschool, and making terrible Christmas albums with my friend David shortly thereafter.
What did you do to advance your skills/knowledge?
I used to practice my finger drumming every morning watching Much Music and playing along to the music videos that came up. After that it comes down to lots of jamming with friends and practising my keyboard soloing skills.
What did your first set up look like?
My first electronic setup consisted of a MicroKorg, a Boss DR-110 drum machine and a Yamaha DX7IID. Also my horrible M-Audio MIDI controller!
What does your current setup look like?
Things have gotten way out of hand the last few years. I have numerous synths and drum machines, a few sequencers and samplers to glue it all together, and a studio built around jamming with friends and having the space to play. My go-to synth right now is the new Roland Jupiter-X....... or maybe the awesome Sequential OB-6
If you could produce for any artist (dead or alive), who would it be?
CARLY RAE JEPSEN.

What is your goal when you create?
To have fun! To decompress! To get away from my work-life and the stress of the world. I think that’s the biggest factor to my perceived ‘success’. I’m only in it to have fun and to do what I love and share that experience. I would be very happy to make a career out of producing, but what I don’t want to do is make it a chore.

What is your dream as a Producer?
I want to be remembered. I want to make a mark. I want to create something special.
What is some advice you would give to someone with a dream to become a Producer?
Just keep truckin’. Do it for you. Don’t worry about being noticed, just do your thing, be genuine, and people will appreciate you. It’s not always about skill but it is always about passion. If you’re not having fun, know what you’re aiming for- don’t burn yourself out, and work with friends! Be open to collaboration but never rely on it.
