How did you get into creating?

I’ve always been into music before I could walk or talk, my family says. It was around late elementary when I found out I could sing and it was up from there. I was heavily inspired when Frank Ocean came out with “Novacane” and I was hooked on all his music. I was inspired to create and story-tell like he did.

How has creating changed your life?

Creating has not only changed my life, it shaped it and elevated it. It became a channel of energy and release. And in many ways it’s saved my life and made it easier. I’m grateful to have this gift to be able to tell my story, but also release it.

Where are you from?

Charlotte, NC

How did growing up in your neighborhood/city affect you?

I was born and raised in Charlotte. I was always close to family and friends and it was fairly a small city. As I grew older I felt more and more claustrophobic, it wasn’t a bad feeling but I felt the need to get out and explore and be more than my environment. I moved to Sacramento from 2016 to 2017. Went back to Charlotte and now I’ve been in Atlanta since 2021, and thinking about moving back to Cali very soon.

What did you do to advance your skills/knowledge?

I constantly (and still do) push myself. My writing, my vocals, my delivery, my tactics, the business, and most of all my creativity. I try to get inspiration from myself and life and sometimes other artists; but without the pressure behind it. I continue to remind myself the only competition is myself, and the goal is to be better than the last thing I put out or worked on. And that art comes from the soul, and that can’t be recreated or destroyed, it’s precious and unique.

What does your current setup look like?

My setup is the world. I can get inspired and write lyrics in my head. But, for my last project anytime i felt inspired I wrote it right by my huge window, at night looking at the stats.

Who inspires you? Why do they inspire you?

Frank Ocean, he’s an incredible artist that does the best at painting a picture, and being so vulnerable to where you can feel the rawness and emotion. He’s an immaculate storyteller, writer, and creative. He never hesitates to experiment and try new things while staying true to himself. That inspires me. Kendrick Lamar, he’s just the goat. His cadence and delivery is top-notch. He’s one in a million and his talent and intelligence can’t be denied. He’s also an immaculate storyteller, and his way with words is once in a lifetime. He’s one of the guys that has earned his spot in the game. I respect that. Anytime I write rap I think about how would Kendrick deliver this line, what would he say and how would he say it? You can tell he really thinks about each word, each line, each delivery, and how he says every syllable. Incredible.

Tyler the creator as well. Just an innovator, very slept on

Jhené Aiko. She’s an angel! Beautiful inside out and also heavily inspires my writing, and energy when it comes to music, life, and even branding. I want to have an impact on others the way she has impacted me.

(So, so many more)

What is your goal when you create?

To tell my story and hope it touches someone and inspirer’s them

Why do you create?

For myself, releasing, being honest with feelings that are subconsciously sitting. I create to release.

What's your go-to song right now?

As an artist, this is almost impossible to narrow down to one. I have a song dedicated to all of my moods, and emotions lol.

What is your dream as an artist and what steps are you taking to reach your dream?

My dream is for my music to not only reach millions but to really touch millions. I want to stop the world and tell them, it’s okay to be sad, depressed, angry, happy. But make sure it’s real and you feel it all the way. Music nowadays is inauthentic and I want to bring authenticity back. And to do this, the biggest thing is that I work hard to stay humble and true to myself in a world where being popular, seen, and mean is trending. Being a business owner is the mindset to have to make it nowadays. Everything is money and business. And 10% talent. That’s what’s gonna make me stand out.

What is the best advice you would give someone with a dream?

First, make sure it’s really what you want in the end, if so.. build your confidence in it, stay true to who and what you are, and build a plan around it. A dream without a goal or a plan is just a dream.
