How did you get your Artist name?: I have been Smooth since birth. It took shape when I started my radio show last year.

How did you get into creating?: When I was 9years old, my dad took me to one of his recording sessions. All the lights and sounds fulfilled my heart with satisfaction like never before. I was hooked since then.

How has creating changed your life?: It has developed a determination in me that I can complete whatever I put my all into. It also help me learn to appreciate all successes and failures because they both are teachers of elevation.

Where are you from?: Chicago, Illinois but I reside in AZ.

How did growing up in your neighborhood/city affect you?: We lived in a house with barred windows and 2 screen doors, it made me understand that life can be taken from you at the will of others to overcome. It taught me that life should never be taken for granted and to go all out because all you have is now.

What did you do to advance your skills/knowledge?: I have done countless hours of research and work. I have put in years worth of work in the studio, in networking groups, and even taken a few internships with a local radio station.

What does your current setup look like?: I go to a professional studio here. So I don’t have my own setup.

Who inspires you? Why do they inspire you?: My inspiration mainly comes from Jay-Z. To never put a pen to a pad is amazing, to draw up the types of lines/verses is genius. Lastly he is an extremely talented showman during his concerts, his shows are something to be witnessed.

What is your goal when you create? : To enjoy the entire process from being to end without putting to much of an issue on myself to rush things.

Why do you create?: I create because after being a step away from making the NBA. I failed myself and creating became an avenue of relief for me. It became an escape from the negative and pushed me to be better for not just myself but for those around me who look up to me.

What's your go-to song right now and why is it important to you?: Richer then Ever by Favio Foreign ft Rich The Kid. It brings a feeling of positivity, along with an energy of making money.

What is your dream as an artist and what steps are you taking to reach your dream?: My dream is to be international. I am developing a network of individuals who are experienced in the field of business. As well as I am reviewing interviews of artist similar to myself and taking notes on what they did at their moment of ascension.

What is the best advice you would give someone? : Enjoy the journey because the destination can’t be fulfilling if your mind is stuck with negative thoughts before you arrive.

Tell us about your most recent release: My most recent release was a song called moody. It came about during a day when I was hanging with a “lady friend” of mine and my ex called. She started going off because her family seen me out with someone that wasn’t her. She called me a dog
