Failure is a Part of Success

Failure Is A Part of Success

By Abby Daniella

I'm about to ask you a bunch a questions to get you thinking, but first:

You've just taken a test and you’re anxious for the outcome.

Think back to high school where Mrs. ________ is about to hand you your grade.

Now, your best friend's got an A and you’re 100% sure you did, too.

But nope...

F

Marked in red; circled.

You're getting hot and you feel like the classroom is closing in on you.

"Wtf??? How did I...?

Maybe I should have...?

My mom is gonna..."

Life is a big test, bro!

I know this just as much as you do.

And if you're not prepared for what's in front of you when you know it's coming, can you expect to be ready for the pop quiz?

But here's the thing:

Experiencing failure is, in my experience, one of the most important parts of life we should embrace more often.

I struggle with this every day of my life, so I'm not anymore immune than you are.

We always hear our heroes say that failure comes with success.

But somehow we're still surprised, devastated, and embarrassed when we FEEL it firsthand.

Michael Jordan, Oprah Winfrey, Steve Jobs and many more encounter countless failures along their unique paths.

So are WE going to be successful... or not?

Are you going to let setbacks KEEP you in the back of the class?

Passion and hustle will help to keep your wheels turning, but what about yourpurpose?

Why are you doing what you're doing?

Why are those things important to you in the first place? What do they MEAN?

How is what you're doing today helping you to get closer to it all?

Or... are your wheels just spinning in place with no true direction in mind???

(You know this feeling)

There's no reason you can't put your name next to your heroes'.

If there is anything to be afraid of, be afraid of NOT trying.

Or turning into those people you see every day.

Those you know aren't living inside of their true happiness and are, unfortunately, just going through the motions because they settled.

Where will you be in 5 years?

Hold that image in your mind.

What are you doing today to make that a reality?

Failure allows you to learn, go back to the drawing board, and get it right the next time. Or at least get closer.

Taking an L is part of the journey you just can’t avoid it. So fail fast.

Fail often.

You'll grow fast.

Faster than those who are on the sidelines, not even trying.

How will YOU react next time failure slaps you in the face?

Quit... or slap back?

Remember…

There is no success without failure.

And your most embarrassing failures will probably teach you more than your biggest successes!

Want me to keep writing these? If I could turn these posts into a mini book or app, would you cop it to keep you on point when you're feeling low?
