Alex Bamboozled Interview | Respect the Producer Interview

How did you get your name?

Well, my real name is Alex Boschitsch, and since no one can say “Boschitsch” i was thinking about something that people will easily remember and what’s catchy. So i thought “Alex Bamboozled” was the perfect name!

How did you get into producing?

Im a big house fan since my 6th. the first house banger i’ve ever heard was “Animals” From Martin Garrix. From that moment on i was sold.

house is such an magical style, for me. After a few years i wanted to make something just as magical as the big house tracks myself. i wanted to give people a smile because of my music. So i jumped behind my laptop en started to search how i could make music on a laptop. I found Fruity Loops en cracked it instantly. from that moment on i’ve never stopped. Producing is just such an escape from reality for me.

What did you do to advance your skills/knowledge?

Youtube was the place to be haha. I watched many many many tutorials and downloaded lots of flp’s.

Being a producer just takes A LOT of time. u have to do things a 100 times wrong before you know how to do it right. And trust me, that can be really frustrating sometimes.

What did your first setup look like?

hahahah, i like this question. My frist setup was so terrible. i had a shitty laptop, with some shitty speakers, standing on my ironing board with a simple chair. it was soo bad, but i think that a setup won’t influence if your music is good or bad. its what’s in your head, not what’s in front of you!

What does your current setup look like?

it’s still not that special, but it’s better then it was earlier. i have my Macbook air and 2 Krk speakers on a simple Ikea desk with some light strips underneath it. i have some posters from big festivals and dope dj’s. i also have a midi keyboard, to write down melodies.

If you could produce for any artist (Dead or alive), who would it be?

im not sure for who, because there are so many artists i wanna produce for. But if i have to choose one, i think it will be for Martin Garrix! He is just such an House icon. it would be such an honor do produce something for him! lets see what the future brings!

What is your goal when you create?

My goal is to see people being happy when they’re listening to my music, to see their smile. music is the only language in the world that everyone speaks, and i think that is really beautiful! i want to give people the power to keep hunting their dreams, no matter what. and i know that music can help everyone in that!

What is your go-to song right now?

Im totally vibing on Firebeats’ & Dubvision’s new track “Lambo”

Its such an amazing track with a lot of power in it, and i love that!

What is your dream as a Producer?

My dream as a producer is to make a big hit, so the entire world knows me and my music. If i get 1 positive comment, it makes me happy. if i get thousands of positive comments. it makes me super happy! i want to share my creativity to the rest of the world!

What is some advice you would give to someone with a dream to become a producer?

when you start producing, you should not immediately expect to make a Martin garrix, Tiesto or David Guetta track. when you start producing, you often expect to have a masterpiece after an hour. unfortunately that is not the case. and I know from experience that it can be incredibly annoying. so don't try to put yourself on that level and just start at the beginning. that's how everyone started. believe in yourself and do not give up! if it doesn't work for a while, don't get angry right away. stop for a moment and then continue again. someday you'll come to the big level!
