DJ Dosk Interview | Respect the Producer Interview

How did you get your name?

I wanted my DJ name to be short but relevant to me so I used my nickname “Dosk” which is just a shorter version of my last name “Doskicz”

How did you get into Producing?

When I was djing throughout college I realized the only way to take it to the next level was to make my own songs instead of playing everybody elses.

What did you do to advance your skills/knowledge?

Constant practice, repetition, and consistent work on producing and song making.

What did your first set up look like?

My laptop using Virtual Dj connected to the frats speaker system

What does your current setup look like?

I usually plug into house CDJ’s and Mixer or bring my own controller.

How did you get your Producer/Artist name?

I originally thought of Dosk and just turned the O into a power button to represent electronic msic

If you could produce for any artist (dead or alive), who would it be?

Biggie. Hands down. 

What is your goal when you create?

To make a song I can enjoy, that can be different that what I currently hear in the field, and that can push an artist that I work with to a new level.

What is some advice you would give to someone with a dream to become a Producer?

It takes constant experimentation and consistent hard work to put out your best quality art. Also, your first song will suck.
