How did you get into photography/videography?

I got into photography when I was asked by an online magazine, I used to work for, to do a test photo shoot with an upcoming German actress named Anna. The photos turned out good and ended up as a photo exhibition. Since then I started to shoot more.

What did you first use to take photos?

My first camera was a Canon 7D.

Where did you go to school? Do you have any formal training/self taught?

I didn’t go to photography school or take any formal training. Indeed, I taught myself how to shoot by learning by doing. If I wanted to find out more about the using of each technique tool, I asked my photographer friends' circle or I searched on YouTube channel.

Do you have any nicknames?  How did you get that name?

I like my name, Vivienne Loi. Therefore, I don’t prefer a nickname for me.

But my Instagram account name is: @vivi_white.

My ex-colleagues used to call me Vivi White to differentiate me from another girl called Vivian. „White“ because of my light skin colour.

If you could take photos of any 3 people who would it be?

Naomi Campbell, Giselle Bündchen, Claudia Schiffer

If you could take photos of any 3 people that are no longer living who would they be?

James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, Whitney Houston

If you could take photos in any 3 cities what would they be?

Paris, London, San Francisco

What is your goal when you capture photos of someone?

I like to take out the „best“ of someone I shoot and tell for them their story through my lense.

What music do you listen to when you edit photos?

Synthie pop, for instance songs from singer „Roosevelt“.

What's your favorite app on your phone?

Instagram.

What is your dream as a photographer?

Not only to make people happy with my photography but also to show people their other side which they often underestimate. I also love the idea to be challenged every time with a new model/ character.

What is some advice you would give to someone with a dream to be a photographer/videographer?

Never stop dreaming to become a photographer. See with the eye to capture the moment. Don’t be always guided from what is the best technique to shoot someone or something. Feel your object and think of what kind of a story you want to tell the outside viewers.

Where can people find you? (social media, website, etc.)
