PraiseOne - My Brain EP Interview

Why did you make this album?

Well for starters I made this EP to give everyone a taste of what goes through my brain from violence to pain to suicidal thoughts to life and tribulations that I have faced this EP has a Horrorcore/Shock Rap/Battle Rap sound but you do get songs on there like Bothered All The Time, Never Gonna Change, Mad World, F@#$ You All to vent on certain situations

What inspired the title 'My Brain EP'?

I wanted the title to speak for its self back in 2015 my very first song that I recorded which is on this EP basically opened up the whole concept to take people into my brain and let them see what goes on inside of it because I always felt very misunderstood because I was always judged so I kind of wanted to fire it back

If you could do remix to one song on the album and anyone as your guest feature, what song what it would be and who would you have on it?

It'd probably be the intro song to the EP Constantine I'd probably make it a whole posse cut remix and get a bunch of really dope rappers on it or get Eminem on the record because that song gets compared heavily to old school 1997/1999 Eminem so if he came with that sound based on how the song is it'd be perfect

Who helped make this album what it is? Writers, Producers, Muses, Support System, Etc

I wrote every song acapella at first then I met my two older brothers Deverano & Don OD and they produced 8 out of the 10 songs the song Pessimist was produced by my bro Joe Joe Beats for those of you who don't know Joe Joe has produced 9 songs for Dave East and his song The Hated made it to the latest UFC game so shout out to him!!!!!!

What is your favorite track? Why?

My personal favorites are Constantine, Never Gonna Change & Where Is The Money Constantine gives you that old school horrorcore boom bap feel where I go in with 100 bars Never Gonna Change basically tells people to go $!#@ themselves that have judged me for my music, Where Is The Money is basically the banger of the EP which I wrote in a very dark time in my life

What is your goal as an artist?

My goal is to be one of the greatest hip hop artists of all time I want to be that rapper that puts out such an undeniable album that it goes down in hip hop history as one of the best albums ever

When did you know you wanted to make music?

I was introduced to hip hop in the 3rd grade and I started writing in the 5th grade to put myself in a little world to get away from all the tribulations at home I knew I wanted to keep doing it when I realized that I can put words together and say whatever I want rather it would piss the world off or not

What is your dream now that you just accomplished this dream?Have you ever been Stereotype'd? Tell us more

I haven't really accomplished any of my dreams fully yet but the past few years I have done a lot of things me and Don OD have gotten on the Underground Hustlin compilation mixtape that King Gordy and Bizarre (LARS) (Bizarre is also from D12) are hosting and our collaboration track 4MeNMinez Bizarre introduced it and shouted us both out also I was on IBattle and Beast Mode and I got on 3 ULUE cyphers not to mention the shows my team has been throwing for a whole year we have another one coming up October 13th at Mother Pugs Saloon 1371 forest Ave Staten Island New York and me and Don OD are opening up for Twiztid October 14th in Syracuse

To tell you the truth no but I will say this I have been judged for my music with people saying it's not radio ready and it's not relatable and how it's too "negative" and how I shouldn't vent or spit punchlines but instead do turn up music because that's the popular trend and there were certain shows where people didn't really show interest into what I was saying because of the dark content it has

Have you ever broke a Stereotype someone had of you? Tell us about it

When I was in high school I was always made fun of by everyone for rapping being called a chunky white kid that thinks he's Eminem I started battling and jumping into cyphers trying to earn the respect as an M.C and I guess as time progressed people have some what taken it more seriously but there is still controversy surrounding me due to the lyrical content of my music which I'm expecting more of when I drop this EP I have silenced a lot of people in battling but I feel like I haven't fully earned the respect yet
