How did you get into art?

I pretty much got into art at a very young age, It started with coloring books and developed into collage and paper machete sculpts. I would mimic whatever he would do usually little bubble letters alongside the crosswords. Allowing me to develop a graphic style to mature into. 

What did you do to advance your skills/knowledge?

I advanced into skills and knowledge during the late 70s into the early 80s by trying my hand at graffiti art and landmark restoration which both have been very useful in the way of pop art and illustration and carpentry at a artisan level. As a craftsman I've developed a way to interact these many facets of artistry. I also took computer graphic courses too. There were several in school art contest that kept me going. My parents always kept me in arts and crafts workshops throughout the early 70s. My father would always be doodling and enhance my graphic projects.

What’s your prefer use of medium? (paint, Ink, digital)

Mediums I like to work with is usually a mix of pen and ink. Aerosol for outdoor projects. Acrylics   and wood. Oil paint on occasion.

Do you have an Artist name? How did you get your Artist name?

My artist name is BRAZEOne...that's been my handle since 1978 ...Something about the way the letters combined plus at the time no one had the name...totally original with a nice ring to it.

Who inspires you?

I've been very inspired over the years by many of very talented crafts people artist and friends and organizations such as yourself who have kept me self motivated over the last 50 years...The list goes on. Its been quite some journey! Always a big fan of Max Fliecsher and Walt Disney..Jackson Pollack also was an influence on my more abstract applications.

What is your goal when you make art?

My goal when making art is to create something that attracts the eye. I try to express my life as a  product of New York also as an underground artist throughout the 80s.

What's your go to song right now?

Usually I will start of with some ‘Comin Round the Mountain’ by Funkdelic

What is your dream as a artist?

My dream as an artist is to possibly have a signature store to sell fashionable art also to travel with my family doing major art installations. Also to spread love through the language of the arts.

What is some advice you would give to someone with a dream to become an artist?

Best advice to  younger artist always keep yourself surrounded with easy access to art supplies. Buy as much paper and pastels and acrylics as you can afford and apply them with a energy and focus. Do research and take any course or class that will enable you to flourish as an artist. Exhibit your work and love your work.
